Waste containers are lifted, tipped and stacked during collection. This is when weak gel releases liquid, and it is also when the failure becomes visible to the customer.
Prepare a representative sample, apply weight comparable to a filled container, and check for released liquid after a realistic period. Compare grades on this measure.
Choose a firmer grade, moderate the target capacity, or adjust dosage. Re-check uptake speed after changing the grade, since firmer gels are sometimes slower.
Even a strong gel leaks from a cracked or poorly sealed container. Inspect containers regularly and replace damaged ones as part of routine maintenance.
