People care about the safety of SAP’s composition. Let us talk about it seriously from a material perspective.
The main component of SAP is acrylate polymer. This high-molecular substance is chemically stable, does not volatilize, does not dissolve in water, and does not migrate; under normal use it does not decompose into harmful substances. This is the confidence behind its use in diapers, sanitary napkins, and food pad materials.
The real risk points are not in the polymer itself but in two aspects. First, residual monomer: resin with incomplete polymerization retains a small amount of acrylic acid monomer, which is irritating, so food-grade and medical-grade standards set strict limits on residual monomer. Second, impurities: heavy metals and other impurities introduced by raw materials must also be controlled.
So to judge whether SAP is safe, look at two things: what grade it is (food/medical grade vs industrial grade), and whether it has test reports of the corresponding grade. The reports carry clear data on residual monomer, migration, heavy metals, and other indicators.
Material safety is guaranteed by standards, not feelings. When buying, trust the reports and match the grade to the application – then there is no problem.
