Colour is usually introduced by dissolving a suitable colorant in the water before adding the polymer, which gives even distribution. Adding colour afterwards tends to produce patchy results.
Not all colorants behave well in the polymer system. Test a small batch first, because some dyes affect absorption or bleed out of the gel later and stain surfaces.
Heavy colour makes the material look dyed rather than snowy. Light tints generally read better, especially under display lighting where saturation is exaggerated.
Test the finished material against the surfaces it will touch, particularly fabric, timber and light-coloured flooring. Run the test for the full duration of the display, not just a few minutes.
