Plan the quantity
Estimate by area and desired depth, then prepare a surplus. Events rarely allow time for a second batch, and running out halfway through setup is a common problem.
Prepare ahead
Snow can be made a day or two before and kept in sealed containers. Preparing in advance removes time pressure on the day and lets you check the texture calmly.
Supervise where children are present
The material is not food and small children may try to taste it. Supervise use, keep it away from very young children, and clear spills quickly from floors.
Plan the cleanup
Decide how the snow will be collected before the event starts. Sweeping into containers works well; washing large amounts into drains is not advisable and may be prohibited.
