Productions need the same look across shooting days. Prepare snow in batches using a fixed measured ratio and written method, so a replacement batch matches what was shot earlier.
Continuity and refresh
Material dries under hot lights and between takes. Assign someone to monitor condition and refresh affected areas with prepared material kept in a sealed container.
Handling on set
Expanded snow is slippery on smooth floors and can be tracked around. Plan walkways, keep material contained, and clean spills promptly to avoid accidents during busy setups.
Prepare more than needed
Make a surplus. Running short mid-shoot is far more disruptive than preparing extra, and sealed material can be stored and revived later for subsequent sessions.
