Keep it dry
Moisture is the main enemy. Once the powder has absorbed humidity from the air, its capacity for urine drops. Store sealed in a dry place and reseal bulk containers promptly after use.
Avoid heat and sunlight
Heat and ultraviolet exposure accelerate ageing and reduce performance. Keep stock away from radiators, direct sun and vehicle dashboards, where temperatures can be extreme.
Check packaging integrity
Damaged or poorly sealed sachets allow moisture ingress long before the stated shelf life ends. Inspect incoming stock and rotate it so older material is used first.
Re-test aged stock
If material has been stored for a long period or under poor conditions, run a quick uptake check before relying on it. The test takes minutes and prevents a batch of underperforming product.
