Why turf benefits
Grass has a shallow root system and large transpiring area, so it stresses quickly during establishment and summer heat. Gel incorporated into the root zone improves germination and reduces watering frequency while the sward develops.
How to apply it
Incorporate the blend into the top five to fifteen centimetres before seeding or laying sod. Sandy root zones need the higher rate; heavier soils need less. Lightly rake it in before laying turf so it sits below the root interface.
Rethink the irrigation schedule
Once gel is present, the surface stays moist longer. Extend intervals and reduce individual application volumes rather than keeping the previous routine, which would keep the root zone too wet and encourage shallow rooting.
Control the cost
Treating an entire site uniformly is expensive. Prioritise slopes, sandy strips and high-visibility areas, and rely on normal management elsewhere. Concentrating the investment where establishment is hardest usually gives the best return.
