Keep it sealed and dry
The material is hygroscopic and will absorb moisture from the air, reducing how much water it can hold later. Store in a sealed container in a dry place.
Keep away from animals and children
Store dry material securely where pets and children cannot reach it. Dry particles are a choking and irritation risk if handled carelessly.
Avoid heat and sunlight
Heat and ultraviolet exposure age the material and reduce performance. Keep it in a cupboard away from direct sun and heat sources.
Label and rotate
Label containers with the date opened and use older stock first. Check occasionally for caking, which indicates moisture has got in.
