Why non-draining matters
Many transport and disposal rules require that liquid waste does not release free liquid during handling. Solidified leachate that passes a drainage test is generally easier to book and less likely to be rejected on arrival.
Test before booking loads
Run a simple drainage check on a cured sample, such as standing it on a sieve or absorbent surface for a set period and checking for released liquid. Do this before committing a full load.
Gel strength and stacking
Material stacked in a container is compressed by its own weight. Adequate gel strength prevents liquid being squeezed out during transit, which is when failures usually appear.
Document the result
Keep records of the dosage used and the drainage test outcome for each batch. Documentation supports acceptance at the receiving end and helps resolve any dispute about load condition.
