Agitation is the key variable
Good dispersion separates particles before they swell and prevents clumps with dry cores. Where agitation is weak, even a suitable grade will produce uneven gel and waste material.
In-tank versus in-situ
Pumped leachate can be treated in a tank or mixer where agitation is controlled. Liquid in a pond or sump must be treated in place, usually by distributing material across the surface and allowing time to hydrate.
Addition method
Add the polymer gradually rather than dumping a full dose at once, and keep agitation running throughout. Gradual addition consistently uses less material and produces a more uniform gel.
Allow standing time
After application, give the material sufficient time to hydrate fully before judging the result. Judging too early leads to unnecessary additional dosing and higher cost for no benefit.
