Keep it dry above all
The powder is strongly hygroscopic. Exposure to humid air causes partial hydration, which leads to caking, poor flow and reduced effective capacity. Store in sealed original packaging in a dry, ventilated area, off the floor on pallets.
Control dust
Fine grades generate dust during pouring and mixing. Use local extraction where practical and wear suitable respiratory and eye protection. Dust also creates slip hazards when it lands on floors and hydrates with any moisture present.
Avoid heat and direct sun
Prolonged exposure to heat and ultraviolet light accelerates polymer ageing and reduces performance over time. Keep stock away from direct sunlight, radiators and steam lines, and avoid leaving material in open containers on site.
Stock rotation
Operate first-in first-out and avoid long-term accumulation. Check stored material periodically for caking or damaged packaging, and re-test absorption before using stock that is near the end of its stated shelf life.
