It looks wet rather than fluffy
Usually too much water or insufficient breaking up of the mass. Reduce water slightly and work the material by hand to open the texture.
It dries out too fast
Caused by heat, direct lighting or dry moving air. Move the display, cover it when not in use, and keep a sealed reserve for refreshing.
Uneven expansion
Typically the result of adding water too quickly or stirring poorly. Add powder gradually to water with gentle agitation and allow full standing time.
It stains surfaces
Colourants or prolonged damp contact can mark porous materials. Test the finished snow against display surfaces for the full planned duration before committing.
