Batch consistently
Use a fixed measured ratio and the same method for every batch. Consistency between batches matters more than absolute quantity, since mismatched batches look different when placed together.
Use suitable containers
Mix in containers large enough for the material to expand several times over. Underestimating the final volume is the most common mistake in bulk preparation.
Allow time to expand
Bulk quantities take longer to hydrate fully than small samples. Build expansion time into the schedule rather than rushing to use material that is still swelling.
Store sealed until needed
Keep prepared snow in covered containers or bags to slow drying. Label batches by preparation time so older material is used first.
