Work granules into the planting hole or top few centimetres so they sit among active roots; water well after application to activate. Avoid surface-only scattering where sun dries it before roots arrive. Combine with mulching for best effect.

A gel-amended bed holds moisture through short dry spells, reducing wilt and recharge frequency. It is a supplement to good mulching and watering, not a replacement—specify all three for the quoted result.
